ABOUT US

The idea of offering an email service to people who wanted to become active on social justice issues but were too busy to do the investigations themselves emerged independently in two Anglican Churches in 2004.  One group was based in Leicester at the Church of the Martyrs and the other in Birmingham in All Saint’s, the Kings Heath parish church.  By chance the groups discovered each other and met in 2005 to create an alliance of social justice networks.  Over the next couple of years the numbers increased until Justice Mail members were spread from Carlyle to Chichester.  In order to maintain some geographical basis, new members from the east of  England were allocated to the Leicester list and those from the west of England to the Birmingham list.  In 2008 the third group was formed at St. Andrew’s in Great Cornard in Suffolk and this website was created later in 2008.

We are church-based because we believe that Christian faith calls us to build the Kingdom of God in the world.  However, we seek to work with anyone who accepts our ideals, regardless of their background in religion or secular life.
